Cherry Blossom-like Flowers found in Cavite

In an Instagram post published by several users, a number of trees found in De La Salle University Medical Center in Dasmarinas Cavite looks a lot like Japan's cherry blossoms. In the photos she posted, the trees have blooming flowers in the same shade of pink just like a sakura.



According to Inquirer.net, although the flowers did look like cherry blossoms, they were actually pink Tabebuia trees that bloom during the month of March. This is not the first time a pink-flowered tree in the Philippines has gone viral for its similarities to cherry blossom.


There is also the balayong tree or cherry trees from Palawan which is considered a tourist attraction during the Balayong festival of the city.

After the sakura-like trees have gone viral, many netizens suggested more trees are to be planted around the school. "It could have been more beautiful if there are thousands of that trees planted in a park to rival Japan cherry blossoms. " said username bluebubbles30. This is actually a very good suggestion as it will probably bring the same charm that many tourists all around the world want to see just like in Japan.


The cherry blossoms in Japan are one of the main reasons why many Filipinos and other tourists visit the country visit the country. And because of this, many stores and restaurants in Japan actually make sakura-inspired products and goods as a souvenir for locals and tourists.

There are no announcements yet whether the school will be planting more of the trees in their vicinity but many netizens are truly hoping they would.
